Trip to NEC Birmingham for the Printwear & Promotion LIVE exhibition.

The purpose of the trip was to show young people the industry side of printing methods on to garments. Young people got to see all the different ways of how the industry print on T-shirts, Bags, cups, plates, hoodies and so on. Young people will also had the opportunity to get involved hands on and make some products them self’s and also learn the different ways of using the current material we use for t-shirt printing at ECYC.

This was a benefit to young people that want to get involved in the industry or if they start their own business and want to produce T-shirts or work for a company that wants to produce promotional items

Breaking Waves and Stereotypes ECYC Style!

The following Article was taken from the YSDS Employee Led Mutual pathfinder monthly Newsletter.

Some people, who haven’t got the foggiest, moan that Youth Work is all about giving kid’s treats for treats’ sake. Well OUR masters of Youth Work, from Earls Court Youth Club, have not only disproved that notion but smashed it to smithereens!

As a reward for taking part in their Young Leader’s programme – a programme designed to encourage young people to make positive contributions to the youth and wider community – they took 5 young people surfing on the Cornish coast.

Steve Hunt explained, ‘the money for the programme was raised by a Charity called CATS (Community Action Through Sport). ECYC became aware of the opportunity through its partnership links with London Youth who also attended the weekend. It goes without saying that all involved had an incredible time with the majority of young people surfing like real Pro’s by the end of the weekend…unfortunately the same couldn’t be said for those staff who took part!’

Amrit's Campaign T-shirts

A candidate for the 2012 Kensington and Chelsea Youth Parliament made her T-shirt at Earls Court Youth Club today to help her with her campaign. The Staff at Earls Court wish Amrit the very best luck in the up and comping UK Youth Parliament Elections.
